Course overview

Because the beginnings of serious emotional problems often appear in the early years, many elementary schools employ psychologists whose training combines courses in child development, education and clinical psychology to work with individual children to evaluate learning and emotional problems. In consultation with parents and teachers they plan ways of helping the child both in the classroom and the home.
