Over 70 years’ experience
BSY was established in 1946. Since then we have grown considerably, whilst staying true to our ethos of high quality courses from dedicated and caring professionals. We specialise in courses which you can study at home, with helpful guidance and encouragement available from our friendly and experienced tutors.
Qualifications and levels to suit your needs
You can study at a level that suits you.
In addition to gaining BSY qualifications, some courses also grant Certificates of Achievement from Quality Licence Scheme* or OCN* certification of achievement. This indicates that the course measurable learning outcomes have been benchmarked at the appropriate Level using Ofqual’s Regulated Qualifications Framework level descriptors.
Practitioner level
If you wish to start your own practice or expand your career then our level 3 and level 4 practitioner courses can help you achieve the skills and knowledge needed.
Level 3 qualifications recognise that you have gained the ability and, where relevant, are able to apply a range of knowledge, skills and understanding. This level is appropriate for people working in professional jobs and/or managing and developing others.
Level 4 qualifications recognise specialist learning and involve a higher level of information and knowledge in an area of work or study. This level is appropriate for people working independently, or in some areas, supervising and training others in their field of work.
Professional Development level
If you would like a foundation qualification in a subject before studying a Practitioner level course then this level may suit. Or, if you are already a practitioner, courses at this level can help you gain additional skills/knowledge to expand your practice.
Personal Achievement level
If you wish to study a subject purely for personal enjoyment then you could take a course at this level. They may also act as a ‘taster’ of a subject before you decide on future study options.

Quality accreditations
BSY is accredited by independent and respected bodies with robust standards:
Some of our courses have been endorsed under the Quality Licence Scheme, which includes passing robust and rigorous quality audits by external inspectors. This means that BSY has undergone an external quality check to ensure that the organisation and the courses we offer, meet defined quality criteria.

accreditations page.
National Awards for many courses
NCFE is a registered educational charity and Awarding Organisation that designs, develops and certificates nationally recognised qualifications. NCFE CACHE qualifications offered by BSY are regulated by Ofqual in England.
OCN Credit4Learning is a nationally recognised accrediting body. Successfully completing an OCN accredited course with BSY enables you to gain nationally recognised credits which are accepted as entry to further education and university education*.
By completing BSY courses that have been endorsed under the Quality Licence Scheme, successful students will receive
a Certificate of Achievement from Quality Licence Scheme and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the
learner has completed as part of the course).
Quality Licence Scheme endorsement involves robust and rigorous quality audits by external auditors to ensure quality is continually met. A review of courses is carried out as part of the endorsement process.
