Counselling training from BSY could lead to a new career

With BSY, you can choose to study from over 300 fascinating subjects.  One area that may be of interest to you is counselling and stress management.  Topics within this area include ‘Bullying and Harassment – The Younger Years’ and ‘Eating Disorders’.  We have received some feedback from two students who have enjoyed our counselling training.  We hope that it will provide an inspirational read to others who have joined our family of students.

If you would like to learn more about our variety of counselling training then please visit our web page.  You can also call our friendly advisors on Freephone 0800 731 9271 or 01409 220 400 if you would like to ask a question or discuss your study plans – whether you are requesting advice on our counselling training or another topic.

Lisa Summers decided to enrol on the BSY Alcohol Dependency Counselling training.  She chose to study with BSY as ‘my husband recommended them.  He is currently studying with BSY.’  Lisa has been most happy with ‘the turnaround of marked papers.  Really impressed that after only a week or so of me submitting a completed unit, I receive the marked paper back.’  In future, Lisa would like to study the Basic and Advanced Counselling Skills topics.  If someone is thinking of studying with BSY, Lisa recommends ‘that they should definitely do it as it’s such an enjoyable experience and you do it all at your own pace.  The tutors are so helpful and friendly and are really quick at marking your work so no hanging around for long periods of time.  The selection of courses is incredible, not just to help with career progression but also for personal enjoyment/development.’  Lisa agrees that she would ‘recommend BSY to a friend’ and that ‘BSY courses are excellent value for money’.

Viola Chimuka studied Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Management.  ‘I wanted to have more understanding, knowledge and skills of identifying and managing traumatic stress disorder – being helpful to patients, friends, family members, work mates, people in the community and myself.’  Viola chose to study with BSY because ‘I study at my own pace of time and the advisors are so helpful.  Studying with BSY is enjoyable and the courses are not very expensive.  Methods of payment are excellent – I don’t feel strained with finance…’  Whilst studying with BSY, Viola has been most happy with ‘how the levels and strategies have been introduced and the data have been very clear. The course deals with reality and I have expanded my understanding and skills of dealing with stressed people.’  She feels that it may help her in the future to ‘apply what I have learnt practically and do some other courses in the same category to strengthen my knowledge so that I can be more effective in stress management’.  If you are considering joining our family of students, Viola would say to ‘choose a course that you will enjoy doing and that will make a change in your life, and in other people’s lives.  The course which will give you more understanding and knowledge of certain life aspects’.

Why students enjoy studying Massage courses

Massage comes in a variety of different forms, for example aromatherapy or sports.  It can be either relaxing or invigorating and our students find that studying is an excellent way to learn more about the various techniques, with our training ranging from Indian Head to Pregnancy and Baby Massage.

Karen Richards chose to study Hot Stone Therapy. She said that she felt that it followed on as a natural progression from studying several other therapies.  She had previously spent time studying Relaxation and Indian Head Massage and Reflexology courses, and found the lessons easy to follow and the practical training informative and very useful.  She said that she felt that there is no pressure to complete by a certain time, so it had fitted in very well with her lifestyle.  It would also help her to become a successful therapist and make her feel good about herself.  She is now successfully practising Hot Stone Therapy in a therapy centre.  She has since gone onto study Aromatherapy, and would like to learn about Shiatsu in the future.

Being a working mother meant that studying Advanced Aromatherapy has fitted in very well with Helen Brain’s life.  She chose to study with BSY because of the convenience as it allowed her to study at home at her own pace and said that she chose Advanced Aromatherapy to complement her BSY Pilates and Hatha Yoga Teacher qualifications and hopes to start teaching both Pilates and Yoga.  Her advice to her fellow students would be to choose their courses wisely, make the most of the resources available, not to overload themselves with work and to try to do what they enjoy!  She was particularly happy with the support provided and the speed at which the marked assignments are returned to her.

A recommendation by a family member led to Danny Norton enrolling on one of BSY’s Massage courses.  He already had a strong interest in the subject and thought that it would be ideal to study at home in his own time.  He said that he was happy with all aspects of his studying and remarked how convenient it was to send off his assignments and get a very quick reply, and that it was the perfect home learning programme.  In the future he would also consider learning more about Shiatsu and Reflexology.

Our fitness courses can help you learn a fascinating subject at your own pace

Are you interested in fitness courses?  If so, you may be interested in learning with BSY.  You can study your chosen subject when and where you wish – giving you freedom and flexibility.  In addition, tutors are on hand to offer you support and encouragement throughout.  Many of our students have shared their feedback with us.  This can be a useful way for them to share their experiences with those who are thinking of studying with us too.

Penelope Brown took our gym instructor training.  She decided to take this one as ‘I am interested in learning about how the body works, the results and possible injuries’.  Before studying this subject, Penelope had enrolled on a BSY Yoga course.  Penelope studies with BSY because ‘I find the courses flexible with no time restraints.  I also find the courses good value for money.’  She hopes that her gym instructor learning will help her in the future to ‘gain a deeper level of understanding and knowledge of how the body performs’.  Penelope ‘would always advocate home study as it’s flexible around a busy schedule’.  She also agrees that she would ‘recommend BSY to a friend’ and that it is ‘excellent value for money’.

Sasha Von Rappard enrolled on the personal fitness trainer subjects.  Sasha feels that it is ‘excellent’.  He continues by explaining that ‘I am a father of two and need to work full time to provide for my family – and thanks to BSY, I can do the course in my own time’.  Sasha says that he has been most happy ‘with the customer service most of all.  Very helpful.’  Sasha feels that it is excellent value for money and he would recommend BSY training to a friend.

As well as this topic, we offer many other subjects of study – over 300 – that can be learnt.  One such topic is Advanced Crystal Healing.  This was a subject enrolled on by Maria Nickisson.  She feels that ‘they are excellent value and a no pressure approach.  You can complete the course in your own time and at your own speed.’  Maria has already completed the Crystal Healing subject so the advanced one was the next step.  Maria explains that she has been most happy with ‘the fact that my marked work is generally returned in one week with positive comments’.  Please visit our Advanced Crystal Healing web page for more details.
