The many reasons that BSY students choose to study Yoga courses and other subjects with us.

If you ask any of our students why they chose to study Yoga courses with BSY, you will probably find that there are as many reasons as students.

For example, Bethan Buchanan is studying to the Hatha Yoga Course so she can become a teacher.  She is already a qualified teacher from South Africa, and as she hasn’t taught for a few years she thought that it would be a good way to refresh her knowledge.  Previously, she had also studied BSY’s Holistic Healing for Animals and said that she chose to study a BSY Yoga Course as, “it’s a very convenient way to study and the scope offered is very interesting – I would eventually like to study most of them.”  What impressed her most was the feedback from the tutors, who she described as “knowledgeable and direct.”  She hopes that her studies will help her follow her dream of teaching her chosen subject and to live the life she plans to live, working from home.  In the future she would like to study similar subjects with BSY, and perhaps also Colour Therapy, Dog Obedience Trainer and Creative Writing.  Her advice to anyone who is considering studying with BSY is to think very carefully about which subject to do.

Jean Burton decided to study Effective Public Speaking when she started to take on more of a management role in her job, which involved speaking in front of between ten and fifteen of her colleagues, and sometime to a wider audience.  She said that she chose to study with BSY because of the range of choice and the fact that the prices were reasonable.  She commented that the questions have really made her study her notes and tested her knowledge and understanding of the subject.  She thinks that it would help her in the future if she expanded on the notes with the help of other sources of information, such as the internet.  When she has finished studying Effective Public Speaking, she plans to study Basic Clinical Sciences (which she has already enrolled on) and Project and Team Management.  When asked what advice she would give to someone who may be thinking of studying with BSY, she suggested highlighting or underlining the key points in notes.  She commented that students can ring their tutor for advice, and pointed out that ‘you get out what you put in’.

Sandra Haines is studying Advanced Meditation as it is something she practices and finds very beneficial, so would like to run her own classes.  She thinks that her course will help her to achieve this, and also to set up meditation workshops. She has been impressed by the prompt marking of assignments and the great help that she has had with her lessons.  She commented that she wished she had studied with BSY earlier as she has found it so enjoyable.

There is a great choice of Massage Courses available at BSY.

With subjects ranging from Indian Head to Sports Massage courses, you will find a massage course to suit you at BSY, whether it is for personal enjoyment or professional development.

Melinda Moore chose to study the Sports Massage course as she had always wanted to be able to help people without the need for invasive procedures or medication.  She said, “I chose to study with BSY because it suits my lifestyle.  It allows me to work while I study at my own pace.  There’s no need for me to lose holiday.”  She hopes that in the future it will enable her to be able to help others, be they athletes or amateur sports people.  Other subjects that she might study in the future include Aromatherapy and Reiki.

Reina Kaur Sohanta decided to study Aromatherapy, which combines the benefits with the use of therapeutic essential oils.  She said that she wants to change career paths and she knows that this will give her opportunities and the skills “which will enable me to soar and flourish beyond my wildest dreams.”  Reina chose to study with BSY because, “the tuition, the support and the rate of success from qualified/graduated students is par excellence.”   She said that she has been happy with her ability to absorb information which is presented in such a clear, precise format and manner, and hopes that it will help her to become a competent, confident aromatherapist.

Judy Vidal said that she wanted to understand the theory of Eastern medicine, alongside western methods, so she chose the Gateways of Change massage course, whilst also studying Acupuncture/Acupressure.  Previously, she had studied Herbalism, Hopi Ear Candling, Flower Essences, Reflexology and Indian Head Massage courses.  In the future she would also like to study Shiatsu and Aromatherapy.  She had chosen to study with BSY because they are reasonably priced, and there is the option of paying monthly to spread the cost over a period of time, and also because there is a wide range available.  She said that she was very happy with the helpful tips from the tutors and found their comments very encouraging.  She sees herself in the future as a self-employed mobile therapist, offering a range of treatments.  To anybody considering studying with BSY she suggests that they should spend at least 30 minutes a day studying, and draw up a study timetable.

Some of the things that our students say about BSY beauty therapy courses and more

BSY students enrol with us for many different reasons.  Sometimes it is so that they can use their skills to earn a living.  Or maybe they have a thirst to increase their knowledge on a certain subject.  Perhaps it is for both reasons.

Lynn Crookes is a very good example of this.  She decided to study Acupressure/Acupuncture and Auriculotherapy both because she wanted a change of career and also because she had injured her back and thought that it would help her with pain management, give her a better understanding of what had happened and help her deal with it.  She said she has learnt so much about Traditional Chinese Medicine and how the body works, and hopes to set up her own practice to help others.

Lesley Rosslyn enrolled on the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy course as she has always been interested in CBT and has used it to a degree within her own therapy practice.  She wanted to be able to offer CBT to her clients as an accredited practitioner and felt that it would help her change direction in the way that she works with her clients and enable her to offer her clients a far better service,   She commented that she chose to study with BSY because she liked the idea of distance learning, as opposed to travelling long distances and sitting in uncomfortable lecture rooms.  She said that she was happy with the way the method of study, reading and answering questions enabled her to discover so much about the subject, as each question she answered encouraged her to research the answer through other sources, in addition to using the BSY material.

Good reviews and affordability were factors that helped Emma Payne choose the BSY Beauty Specialist and Beauty Therapy courses, combined with the fact that she would be able to study over a longer period.  She said, “I would like to improve on my knowledge of the Health and Beauty industry and treatments available, and the reasons why people have them.”  She was particularly happy with the feedback she received from her tutor while she was studying her Beauty specialist and Beauty Therapy courses, and said that she would advise anyone considering studying with BSY to keep to their lesson plan, and make use of other resources when answering the questions, plus use plenty of visual aids in their answers.
